This is the diet I recommend everyone use for all of their geckos except for the Leachianus. It has been designed to be mixed 60% base, 40% nectar. I have two groups that I have been feeding 50/50 for the past year, and they have been breeding successfully with no ill effects. However, the original diet has been tested on literally 1000’s of geckos, so I cannot yet recommend this feeding method.

Description
This super food is for the gecko keeper looking to go further with their gecko’s nutrition. This diet is meant to be a base of nutrition (the base, obviously), mixed with the sweet stuff of dessert (the nectar). There are a wide variety of nectars to be mixed in with the base, so you may experiment with them to see which one your geckos prefer. People often ask me what flavors the geckos don’t like, and I can honestly say that at this point I have fed all of them with near equal success.

Feeding Directions

When used as an exclusive diet (no insects):
Mix 60% MRP Base with 40% MRP Nectar BY WEIGHT (not volume). Add water to desired viscosity. Mixing at these ratios replicates the nutritional analysis of the original Crested Gecko MRP formula.

When used as part of a balanced diet (combined with regular insect feeding):
The recipe above may be used as a supplemental diet, (part of a balanced diet), but if your geckos have a sweet tooth, you may use this recipe when also feeding significant amounts of insects. Mix 50% MRP Base with 50% MRP Nectar BY WEIGHT (not volume). Add water to desired viscosity. You can just mix two new equal size Base/Nectar containers together dry and save for future use. Dusted Insects should be offered several times a week.

Mixing the two part Super food:
When I mix my powders together, I always mix at least what I will use for the month, put it in the fridge in a Tupperware, and pull the powder out as I need it. As a little ‘cheat sheet,’ I have put the 60/40 mixing portions below in ounce weights, as far more people have access to an ounce scale:
